Who's holding the bag

I'm Hoppy. Most weekends I'm on a bike. Off-road, motocross mostly at the moment. I learnt to ride as an adult and started racing last year, over-35s, to get faster and safer at the same time. The rest of the week I'm a paramedic.

Before that, ten years in the Army as a medic, six of them in special operations, including multiple domestic operations. These days I do private paramedic work and volunteer work.

The bag is on this site because of the same conversation at every campfire and race meet. A mate goes down, everyone stands around, someone's on the phone and the ambulance is an hour away. The first twenty minutes are the ones that matter, and nobody has shown anyone what to do with them. The more I ride, the more people hear what I do and ask the same question. What do I do? This is my answer.

It's response, not treatment: what a mate can do with what's in the bag. The order is MARCH, bleed first, and you practise it dry until it's second nature. Everything in the videos comes from the current ANZCOR and TCCC guidelines, and I say where I'm reading from, so you don't have to. This page doesn't teach any of it. The videos do.
